The founding of Ohio’s first co-op brewpub! The 1600 Group LLC In Fall 2010, Brian Young and Joe Dierkers, two of FSB’s Founding Members, convinced 32 neighbors in St. Anne’s Hill and surrounding areas to invest anywhere from $1000-$1500 per share in order to purchase the property at 1600 E. Fifth Street. The neighbors formed the 1600 Group, LLC, purchased the building, and made improvements to the exterior (paint, roof, gutters, and more) and gutted the inside. The members of the 1600 Group waited for someone with a good business plan to come along, but they grew tired of waiting. Then in April 2012, Brian’s friend, Jeff, called him with an idea.
