Crooked Handle's new 'Buzz Bait' is a Catch of Craft Beer Excellence!

The Great Miami Riverway and Crooked Handle Brewing Co. have joined forces to bring you Buzz Bait - a locally brewed, refreshing blonde ale that might be best enjoyed sitting along the banks of the Great Miami River this spring and summer.

You can reel in the new brew on tap at their Piqua location starting March 19, and available for purchase in cans on April 2.

Until then, drop by their riverfront location in Piqua and try one of the many great tasting locally-made brews.

Crooked Handle Brewing Co. is also the site of our after-party during the 2024 Riverway Summit. Make sure to order tickets while we still offer early-bird pricing. You don’t want to miss this year’s line up of speakers, including keynote speaker Scott Holley, the CEO and president of Eddyline Kayaks.

See you at the Summit!

More about Crooked Handle Brewing Co.

The Crooked Handle Brewing Company founders were introduced to brewing craft beer in 2008.  Weekends were spent together in a small garage on a horse farm crafting beers using nothing more than a couple of igloo coolers, a small kettle, and a propane turkey fryer.

As the passion for craft beer grew so did the “need” for larger brewing equipment aka “more stainless”.  Engineering, building, and testing continued until what is now known as the Experimental Brew Club pilot system was ready to transform barley into beer.   As the garage brewery grew so did the appreciation for the art and science of crafting delicious beers.  Of course, the best part of brewing is sharing those beers with family, friends, and anyone willing to give honest feedback.  Those were the times in Crooked Handle history now jokingly referred to as the free beer days!

In 2013 a flagship line of Crooked Handle brews are perfected and Jason, Kristy, Jeff, and Emily began developing a plan to set Crooked Handle Brewing Company’s future in motion.  In the spring of 2015 equipment was ordered and construction began on the 3,600sf space inside the Marketplace at Settlers Walk shopping center in Springboro.  Crooked Handle Brewing Company opened its doors on December 25, 2015, as Springboro Ohio’s first craft brewery.

The excitement didn't stop there. After great success, the brewing duo found a new prime location along the Great Miami River for their second location in Piqua, renovating the historic 10,000-square-foot Piqua Granite and Monument Co. building into a welcoming place for great brews, good grub, and building connections.

The Warehouse Beer Hall is located in the more industrial former garage space, the primary drinking and dining area, and features views of the brewery operations. The former display area, dubbed the Showroom, features large windows along the Main Street frontage as a flexible space for hosting events. A centrally located Chef inspired kitchen between the two public spaces. And last but not least, an extensive patio area overlooking Lock Nine Park.
